WYNU-FM CONTEST RULES (Updated 11/16/15)

  1. All contests are open to any/all listeners, unless otherwise specified by WYNU-FM or its affiliates. No purchase is necessary or required to participate or win. Contests are open to United States residents only.
  2. All winners must be 18 years of age or older unless otherwise specified. Persons may only win one prize within a 30 day period unless otherwise specified.
  3. Winners must sign a release prior to receiving their prize. All contestants acknowledge, as a condition of entry, that WYNU-FM has a right to publicize, or broadcast the winner’s name, character, likeness, voice or all matters incidental herein without compensation.
  4. All prizes, unless otherwise specified, must be picked up within 30 days of winning. Prizes are available for pick up during regular business hours, 8AM to 5PM Monday through Friday at 122 Radio Road Jackson TN 38301. WYNU is not open weekends or major holidays.

WYNU-FM will not notify winners of the time remaining to procure their prize. It is the responsibility of the winner to claim the prize within the thirty days provided. If WYNU, at it’s sole discretion chooses to mail prizes, WYNU is not responsible for the failure to deliver or tardiness of prizes sent via US Postal Service. Otherwise, prizes must be claimed in person, unless otherwise specified. Proper identification (valid driver’s license, passport, state ID, military ID) required. All prizes not claimed in the allotted time frame will be forfeited. Station management will decide the disposition of said forfeited prizes.

  1. It is specified that cash prizes will be distributed to the winner in the form of a check made payable to the winner. Exceptions cannot be made. To claim a cash prize, winners must have proper, definitive picture identification (valid driver’s license, passport, state ID, military ID) and a valid Social Security Account number. Winners are responsible for claiming cash winnings as income on their Federal income tax return in accordance with IRS regulations. WYNU will mail cash winners an IRS Form 1099 in accordance with Federal regulations.
  2. In certain “unique situations”, a designated representative will be allowed to accept prize for the winner. Written authorization from the winner including representative’s name, ID and a photocopy of the winner’s driver’s license is required. WYNU-FM management will qualify what constitutes a “unique situation”. Our decision is final.
  3. WYNU-FM may substitute another prize of equal value, in the event of non-availability of an announced prize. All prizes are non-transferable and void where prohibited by law. No cash substitution of prizes, no prize substitutions for cash.
  4. In the event that two telephone lines are tied together during a phone contest, the entire phone call will be disqualified and another phone call will be taken. WYNU-FM cannot award duplicate prizes to both parties in a “tied together” situation. An example of “tied together” call may be two telephone calls originating from the same location or residence or a party line. In the case of a dispute over telephone lines, the decision of WYNU is final.
  5. Employees of WYNU-FM, Forever Communications, its advertising agencies, their affiliates, representatives, employees, and their families or households and employees of other radio stations, their families and household members are ineligible to enter/win. The term immediate family includes spouse, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.
  6. Prizes may be mailed at the discretion of WYNU-FM. WYNU is not responsible for the failure or tardiness of prizes sent via US Postal Service. Otherwise, prizes must be claimed in person, unless otherwise specified. Proper identification (valid driver’s license, passport, state ID, military ID required).
  7. If you’re listening to an internet stream including mobile apps, programming may be delayed affecting contest participation.
  8. WYNU is not responsible for defective prizes.
  9. Additions or deletions to these rules may be made at the discretion of WYNU, and may be enacted at any time.
  10. WYNU-FM, its agencies, affiliates, sponsors or representatives absolve themselves of any liability, financial or otherwise, resulting from any on or off-air contests staged.
  11. All contest entries become the property of WYNU-FM. Furthermore, WYNU-FM may withhold any contest materials crucial to the completion of the contest.
  12. Basic contest rules and addenda are available for review during regular business hours at the WYNU-FM offices, 122 Radio Road Jackson TN 38301.
  13. Any tie will be broken by random drawing from among the tied, qualified entries. The drawing will be conducted by WYNU and the results of the drawing are final. The decision of WYNU is final. Winners will be notified by phone or email.
  14. WYNU reserves the right to refuse contest winnings to anyone who is in debt to Forever Communications.
  15. If the winner is found to be in violation of the rules, he/she may be required to forfeit the prize.
  16. WYNU cannot be held responsible for any technical difficulties, including, but not limited to, technical difficulties caused by transmitter, studio, power failures, telephone lines, or other acts beyond our control.
